Can’t Wait Wednesday – Spotlight on WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about.  It is a meme that I have  loved participating in for over a year now, but as Jill is no longer actively posting, from now on I’ll just be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa, which is a spinoff of the original WoW meme.

My selection for this week is WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller.  After reading and loving Adrienne Young’s Sky in the Deep, I’ve been on the hunt for more Viking inspired stories.  I was thrilled to come across this one, which just sounds fabulous!

WARRIOR OF THE WILD by Tricia Levenseller

Publication Date:  February 26, 2019

From Goodreads:

An eighteen-year-old chieftain’s daughter must find a way to kill her village’s oppressive deity if she ever wants to return home in this Viking-inspired YA standalone fantasy from Tricia Levenseller, author of Daughter of the Pirate King.

How do you kill a god?

As her father’s chosen heir, eighteen-year-old Rasmira has trained her whole life to become a warrior and lead her village. But when her coming-of-age trial is sabotaged and she fails the test, her father banishes her to the monster-filled wilderness with an impossible quest: To win back her honor, she must kill the oppressive god who claims tribute from the villages each year or die trying.

Can I just say how much I love that Rasmira was always going to take over as chief? No romance, just kicking ass and taking back what’s hers.

Wow! This sounds *totally* unlike anything I typically read, but at the same time I am so intrigued. I’ll be interested to see what you think of this one… next year. 🙂

YASSS! I have been drooling over this one actually. I’m really excited about it. I hope you are doing well, it’s been a long time since I visited you. Been in a major blog/reading slump but looks like I’m coming to the end of it, finally. Hope you have a great weekend ahead. xoxo
