Weekly Recap #22: Week of 10/8-10/14

It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

Just one more day until my last big deadlines of the year! I’m happy to say that this past week actually ended up not being nearly as stressful as I thought it was going to be.  My coworkers were a lot more proactive than usual and even though we were really busy, everything went very smoothly.  Hopefully that trend will continue through tomorrow!

We also had our first soccer playoff game yesterday, which didn’t go as we had hoped so our season is now over.  It wasn’t the way we wanted to end, considering how well our team had played all season, but the better team definitely won yesterday.  I’m still really proud of my son, since this was his personal best season yet.  I’m waiting now to hear from him if he’s done until next spring or if he wants to play in the winter indoor soccer league.

Not too much else is going on honestly.  On the blog, I’ll be posting my 50th Netgalley review tomorrow so that’s a pretty exciting milestone for me.  I’ve also finally reached the 1,000 follower mark on twitter so I’ll be posting a new giveaway sometime soon to celebrate. 🙂  I’ve also been looking around for new challenges and readathons to participate in this fall and winter and so far, the one that has appealed to me the most is Caffeinated Book Reviewer’s HoHoHo Readathon so I’ve been looking for books for that and plan to sign up soon.  If anyone knows of any other good challenges or readathons, let me know.  I’m kind of new to them so I don’t necessarily know what’s out there to choose from.

Anyway, I think that’s it for me.  Have a great week, everyone!

I have thought of participating in readathons before but I realized that I don’t like to go by a schedule – I’m actually pretty bad about it. I can’t even do buddy reads – too restricting since I’m famous for DNFing left and right and dropping books like flies. 😀

50th Netgalley and 1,000 twitter followers are amazing milestones – I think I’m at 77 reviews on TG and we are almost at 1000 on Twitter. 😀

I stared Six of Crows, the audiobook, but I haven’t really been hooked yet. Which is a bummer the reviews are amazing and I already bought the audiobook for Crooked Kingdom. Instead of listening to Six of Crows I stared The Savage Song and I’m loving it so far – which is AWESOME!!!!

Have a great Sunday and happy reading!!

Ah deadlines! I remember those. 10/15 was one in my line of work and it always coincided with my birthday and I HATED it. Sorry about your son’s soccer but glad they had a good year overall. Congrats on your NG and Twitter milestones. Have a great week!

Oh, that would totally suck. Thankfully my birthday isn’t until the 22nd so I have a few days to recover. Thanks! Hope you have a great week too 🙂

Congrats on your soccer season! Sounds like your son had a great one. And the HoHoHo readathon is always a lot of fun!

Hillary’s book has me curious. So does 27 Hours.

Congrats on 50 Netgalley reviews. I got excited because I hit 100, and I thought I’d get a new badge, but sadly I didn’t. Also, great job hitting 1000 Twitter followers. I’ve been blogging for three years, but I haven’t hit that yet.

Congrats on your Netgalley and Twitter milestones! That’s awesome. I’m doing the Ho-Ho-Ho readathon too. I have one book I own that I want to read, and then a few I might buy for my Kindle to read.

Thanks! I’ve picked up a couple of books so far for the HoHoHo Readathon. Hoping to find a couple more but I’m getting excited for it.

Sorry to hear your soccer season ended sooner than expected, but it’s great your son’s team made it to the a post season. Congratulations on 1000 follows! That’s so awesome.

Well I’m glad your week wasn’t UBER stressful and that things went smoothly. I hope the same continued for you!

YAY for your 50th NG review! That’s a great Milestone achievement. I hit mine recently too and I was thrilled with the new badge. 🙂 Now just 50 more until the next one, right? 😀

I’m not doing any readathons at the moment – I’m just too far gone with my reading this year and really just want to focus on actually getting to read and being a bit of a mood reader although it’s a tough one being a blogger!

Tethered Mage looks interesting – I’m going to check that out! And I’m coming closer to the end of Cress and I’ve promised my buddy reader we will dive straight into Winter too! So I’m really looking forward to that!

    P.S. Love your totally random!
