Summer Reading Challenge: Summer TBR Wipeout 2017 – Intro Post

I seem to have an endless list of books that I say I’m dying to read but never quite seem to ever get around to actually reading them.  I’m really trying to push myself to finally get some of those lingering books off my TBR, so I was thrilled to come across this challenge, which is hosted by The Candid Cover.  I feel like this challenge is exactly what I need to focus my attention on cleaning out the backlog of books.  I had originally thought about purging, but I do truly still want to read all of these books so that’s not going to cut it.  Below is the very ambitious list of books that I would love to knock off my TBR this summer.  It will probably end up being more like early fall before I get to them all, but even getting half of these read would be a major accomplishment for me at this point!

Are you looking to finally knock some backlisted books off your TBR this summer?  Maybe you should consider taking the Summer TBR Wipeout Challenge too.

Great list!! I’ve read a couple of these and others I have on my TBR. I hope you enjoy Cress – that whole series is just amazing!

Thanks! I really loved Cinder and Scarlet and honestly have no excuse for why I haven’t continued with the series aside from too many books, too little time. I’m really hoping this challenge will give me the push I need to finish up some of those books that I really have been dying to read. I feel bad for pushing them aside for so long, lol.

OMG A TBR OF COMPLETE AWESOME. I LOVE IT. Illuminae, This Savage Song, and Cress are some of my most FAVOURITES and I’m totally in love with A Monster Calls. Sooo many emotions about that one. *sobs* I really want to see the movie film adaption for it too someday. Good luck with this super lovely looking TBR. 😀 I have to read Caraval too someday.😂

It’s funny you commented this post because it was actually one of your recent tweets, the one about dying to read books but there they still sit unread 74 years later, that inspired me to sign up for this challenge and make a serious effort to not have these books still sitting here 74 years from now, haha.

Great challenge. I have some of these books on my TBR as well. I really hope to get more of my own books read ASAP, especially since I’m doing pretty well with keeping up with review books at the moment. I need a good back and forth.

I’m the same way. I’ve been keeping up with my review books pretty well but failing miserably at books I had previously purchased. Really hoping this gives me the kick in the pants I need to strike a balance between the review copies and the backlist.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy Gilmore Girls. It’s one of my all-time favorite shows. I really hope that Cress is as good as the first two books. They were both so amazing! I can’t wait to take a look at your TBR for the challenge 🙂
