Thanks so much for stopping by my book blog, Reads in the Family. If you’ve clicked this link, you’re obviously looking to learn a little more about the bookworm who runs it. Well, okay then, here goes…
My name is Suzanne and I’m a 40-something lover of books who also happens to be a wife and soccer mom. The title of my blog, as I’m sure some have already guessed, is a play on ‘Runs in the Family’ because I come from a very long line of avid readers. If there’s such a thing as a reading gene, we all definitely have it.
My reading tastes are pretty eclectic. I’m steeped in the classics from my college days, but I also love contemporary fiction, some historical fiction, and am recently becoming more interested in young adult fiction as well. I am constantly on the lookout for lists of ‘Most Anticipated Books’ because that’s where I pull many of my reading selections from.
Some of my all time favorite books include To Kill a Mockingbird, Beloved, Pride and Prejudice, The Poisonwood Bible, Life of Pi, All the Light We Cannot See, The Kite Runner, and The Help.
I love to talk about and recommend books almost as much as I like to read them, so I decided it was time to carve out my own little space on the internet so I can geek out on books in my free time. I’m not sure how frequent my updates will be as I do work full-time and also spend a lot of my non-working hours at the soccer fields cheering on my son, but I will do my best to update as often as time allows. I hope you enjoy the blog 🙂
