Mini Blogging Break

Hey everyone!  Just a head’s up that I’ll be taking a short break from the blog while my family and I head to New York City for a few days.  I may pop online and do a few bookstagram posts and do a little blog hopping while on the train, but otherwise I’ll be back home this weekend and will resume my posts on Monday.  I’ve read some excellent books this past week and can’t wait to share my thoughts on them with you, especially Kate Spencer’s debut In a New York Minute and Amanda Elliot’s Sadie on a Plate.

I hope you all have a fantastic week and that all of your reads are amazing!

Mini Blogging Break

Hey everyone!  Just a head’s up that I’ll be taking a short break from the blog while my family and I head to the beach for a few days.  We all just really needed a change of scenery.  Don’t worry though. We’ll be staying in a cabin not a hotel, we’ve packed our masks, sanitizer and wipes, and we will be social distancing the entire time we’re away.  I may pop online and do a little blog hopping as time (and internet connectivity) permits, but otherwise I’ll be back in town by Friday and will resume my posts then.  I’ve read some excellent books this week and can’t wait to share my thoughts on them with you, especially Wendy Walker’s new thriller Don’t Look for Me and Jenny Torres Sanchez’ We Are Not From Here.

I hope you all have a fantastic week and that all of your reads are amazing!

Hello World!

meThanks so much for stopping by my book blog, The Bookish Libra.  If you’ve clicked this link, you’re obviously looking to learn a little more about the bookworm who runs it.  Well, okay then, here goes…

My name is Suzanne and I’m a 40-something lover of books who also happens to be a wife and soccer mom.

My reading tastes are pretty eclectic.  I’m steeped in the classics from my college days, but I also love contemporary fiction, some historical fiction, and am recently becoming more interested in young adult fiction as well.  I am constantly on the lookout for lists of  ‘Most Anticipated Books’ because that’s where I pull many of my reading selections from.

Some of my all time favorite books include To Kill a Mockingbird, Beloved, Pride and Prejudice, The Poisonwood Bible, Life of Pi, All the Light We Cannot See, The Kite Runner, and The Help.

I love to talk about and recommend books almost as much as I like to read them, so I decided it was time to carve out my own little space on the internet so I can geek out on books in my free time. I’m not sure how frequent my updates will be as I do work full-time and also spend a lot of my non-working hours at the soccer fields cheering on my son, but I will do my best to update as often as time allows.  I hope you enjoy the blog 🙂
