Weekly Recap #13: Week of 8/6 – 8/12

Hey everyone!  It’s time for another weekly recap post of all things happening on and off the blog. This week I’ll be linking to the Sunday Post, which is hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and to Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

I’d like to say it was a nice, quiet, and relaxing week, but it’s hard to type that knowing my mind has been on very un-relaxing topics all week, like the threat of nuclear war and domestic terrorism.  It made for a lot of sleepness nights, which means, yes I did have a great reading week, but still…I guess it’s weighing heavily on my mind as I type this because I live about an hour away from Charlottesville, Virginia, and am just so heartbroken by what I’m reading in the news and knowing it’s going on right around the corner.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the young woman who was killed and to all of those who were injured in the terrorist attack.  And yes, I’m calling it that because if it happened anywhere else and the driver of the car wasn’t a 20 year old white man, that’s what we would be calling it.  Sorry, I’m not usually so outspoken when it comes to topics like this. I’m just so frustrated right now…

Okay, just so my post isn’t all doom and gloom.  I also wanted to mention that I got the complete series box set of the Golden Girls.  I love this show so much, and the time couldn’t be better since I could clearly use something to cheer me up!  If Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia don’t do the trick, I don’t know what will!

Oh well, that’s enough from me.  Have a great week, everyone!

I love the Golden Girls and will watch old reruns whenever I can. A boxed set sounds amazing! Everything, Everything is one of the few YA books I have read and I enjoyed it. Have an awesome week!

I finished A Monster Calls today and ended up really enjoying it. And yes, The Golden Girls is one of my favorite TV shows to watch when I need to escape reality for a while. Never fails to make me laugh.

Yeah my thoughts are with everyone in that community, just ridiculous and awful that in this day and age we still have that kind of hate going on. Absolutely unacceptable. Hope you have a better week- it is scary times.

Caraval and Fractured both look good. I never seem to get to Caraval- sigh. One of these days.

LOL. Now that I’ve finally read it, I’m having a hard time writing my review for Caraval. I keep changing my mind about how I felt about it.

I discovered Golden Girls when Hulu acquired it this past Valentine’s Day, and ever since then I’ve devoured half of the series. I love the 4 main characters. They’re just all so funny and feisty in their own ways. I read Everything, Everything a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was amazing so I hope you enjoy it as well! Happy reading, and have a great week! 🙂

The Golden Girls are the best. No matter how many times I watch the episodes, they always make me laugh. I just finished Everything, Everything yesterday and thought it was wonderful. Now I really want to see the movie too. Have a great week!

Isn’t it amazing how it’s always a small percentage of the population that causes so much chaos and damage? I have no words for what happened this weekend. Sad stuff.

I loved the Golden Girls, but haven’t seen it in many years. Great stuff! I loved Everything Everything and thought Fractured was good too. Enjoy your reading week.

      Yes, it really is sad.

I finished Everything, Everything last night and really enjoyed it. Starting Fractured tonight so hopefully I’ll enjoy that one too. Have a great week!

What’s happening in Virginia is just horrific and terrifying and it makes me so mad…and sad. I feel so bad for the friends and family of the young girl murdered. And yes, it’s a terrorist attack. This is domestic terrorism.

Yay for the Golden Girls though! We need some light in the darkness.

I love the Golden Girls, this makes me want to re-watch! Hope you have a great week 🙂 And I, too, worry about all the political instability, hope this period passes soon 🙁
