Waiting On / Can’t Wait Wednesday – Spotlight on Wonder Woman: Warbringer
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, which encourages fellow bloggers to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re excited about. This week I’ll also be linking to Can’t Wait Wednesday, hosted by Tressa.
My selection for this week is Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo. Wonder Woman is my all-time favorite superhero and has been since I was a little girl watching Lynda Carter play the part on TV and kick ass every week. Having just finished reading my first Leigh Bardugo book, Six of Crows, and falling madly in love with it, I truly can’t wait to see what she does with Wonder Woman. I think it’s going to be absolutely brilliant!
WONDER WOMAN: WARBRINGER by Leigh Bardugo
Publication Date: August 29, 2017
From Amazon: The highly anticipated, entirely new coming-of-age story for the world’s greatest super hero: WONDER WOMAN by the # 1 New York Times bestselling author LEIGH BARDUGO.
She will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .
Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.
Alia just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.
Together, Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. If they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

I’d love to hear what upcoming book releases you’re waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me your link in the comments below and I’ll stop by and check out your WoW selection for this week. 🙂
I did not know LB was doing this! I could have sworn I saw another author doing a WW book, and it’s one that didn’t do a book about Black Widow any favours so I just banished it from my mind. This though YAY! Sounds fantastic!
I think you’re right about another author doing a WW too. I can’t remember who it is, but I agree that the storyline doesn’t sound anywhere near as good as the one Leigh Bardugo is doing.
Wow! I didn’t realize Leigh Bardugo was writing a wonder woman book. I will definitely have to check this one out. Thanks for sharing!! I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, I hope so too!
Wow, it seems like I featured this one ages ago. I sure wish it would come out soon. Seems to be Wonder Woman is EVERYWHERE!
Same here. It feels like we’ve been waiting forever. I’m sure it will be worth the wait though 🙂
This book is so amazing, I absolutely loved it! I hope you enjoy it as much as me 😀 Fabulous pick!

Yay, I was hoping it would be! August needs to hurry up and get here so I can read it.
I am really curious about this one! I’ve never read anything by the author, but I hear great things so I’m sure she’ll slay this one.
Six of Crows is the only thing I’ve read by her so far, but I adored that so I’m hoping she’ll do just as an amazing job with Wonder Woman.
I can’t wait to read this one! I just know that Leigh Bardugo has probably completely nailed this story and it is going to be incredibly epic. Hope you love it! 🙂
Six of Crows is the only book I’ve read from her, but I loved it so much that I’m sure she’s going to do a fantastic job on this as well. August seems so far away though!
Ooh awesome choice. I need to see the movie AND read this lol. Plus it gives me a chance to try Leigh Bardugo!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who still hasn’t made it to see Wonder Woman. I really need to do that asap!
Yaaaaassssss! I cannot WAIT for this. Especially after having watched the new movie recently I’m even more amped for this book… Plus – BARDUGO! 😉
OMG, I still need to watch the movie. I was supposed to go the week I got the head cold and didn’t feel well enough to go. Maybe this weekend I can squeeze it in. And yay, Bardugo! If Wonder Woman is anywhere near as good as Six of Crows, it’s going to be brilliant!
That sounds very good! I used to love watching Linda Carter as Wonder Woman too when I was little. I would do the spin move she did before changing into WW…lol.
Happy weekend!
Haha, me too!
