Top Ten 2016 Releases I Totally Meant to Read But Didn’t

top ten tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to).  I’m almost embarrassed to say how easy it was for me to pull together this list.  The list of 2016 books I meant to read far exceeds the number of 2016 releases I actually read.  I also own all of these as e-books so I think It’s all good though because as an added motivation to get these titles read this year, I’ve signed up for NovelKnight’s Beat the Backlist reading challenge and most of these titles are on my reading list.  Wish me luck!

We have two books in common. I really wanted to read Homegoing and Summer that Melted Everything last year. I can’t even explain why I didn’t. I hope that you will enjoy all these books when you get to them. Happy reading.

I can’t explain why I didn’t get to those either, especially since I’ve been excited about Homegoing for ages. I think it’s because I bought it as an e-book and I tend to forget about those when I also have a huge stack of physical books begging to be read.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Salt to the Sea. The description of it sounds incredible and I’m not even sure why I didn’t make it more of a priority in 2016.

Labyrinth Lost was really good. I just finished it. I really liked the author notes at the end that explain how she came up with the idea fir the book and created some of the details of the brujas/brujos lives. Hope you like it when you read it

      Suzanne says:

Oh, thanks for the tip. Sometimes I’m not so great about reading the author notes so will make sure I do when I read Labyrinth Lost.

Thanks! I’m really motivated to read ACOMAF during the first half of the year so that I’m caught up with the series before the third installment comes out.

I’m loving some of those covers- both When We Collided and To The Bright Edge of the World. and Lily and the Octopus looks cute, I’ll have to check that one out. 🙂

The cover of Lily and the Octopus, plus the unusual title, is what initially drew me to that book. Hopefully we’ll both enjoy it 🙂

OMG, right? I probably could have easily listed another 20 or so titles from last year that I’m still dying to read. Yay, so many people have mentioned Labyrinth Lost that I’m going to have to get to that one very soon!

Salt to the Sea is absolutely fabulous – and heart breaking! But seriously? Where did all the reading time in 2016 go? I don’t know about you but my TBR pile is bigger than ever!

    • Suzanne
      Suzanne says:

Right? My TBR is so out of control that I really should go on a book buying ban until I read a few of them. Should but probably won’t, lol.
